Contact Lenses
At Templeman Opticians- Laindon we specialise in contact lens fitting and care. Unlike spectacles, contact lenses can pose ocular health risks due to the proximity to the eye. To this extent our optometrists will gather as much information about your lifestyle and expectations of contact lens wear so that they can provide you with viable, healthy options of contact lens wear.
As an independent practice we are not constrained by who we can use to manufacture and supply our contact lenses. This allows us to provide you with the perfect solution for your visual needs.
At Templeman Opticians - Laindon the choice is vast:
Within each category there may be several options. The optometrists role is to advise you, in a clear jargon-free manner, and make recommendations, but ultimately allow you to make an informed choice about the type of lens most suited to your requirements.
Once happy with the choice of lens, our optometrists will assess the performance of the contact lens on the eye and make any necessary adjustments to improve comfort and vision.
Following this you will be taught the correct procedure for insertion and removal of a contact lens. Only once the optometrist is happy with your technique will you then be allowed to try the lenses at home. Normally the trial period is one week, however the optometrist will advise you accordingly.
Once you are happy with the contact lens performance we can arrange a continual supply of lenses and look after your eyes with regular 6 monthly or annual aftercare checkups.
If you would like to free your vision and try contact lenses please call us to arrange a 'contact lens trial' on 01268 544646.
